Pono UL-6C Parlour Guitar - Cedar
This is a new and unique instrument from Pono Guitar & Ukulele. It has a 21.4" scale. This has a smaller body and shorter scale than a tenor guitar, but it's larger than a baritone ukulele. Pono describes the inspiration for their UL series guitar:
"In the 1800's guitar makers migrated from Europe to the eastern United States. Some of their first designs were what we today refer to as 'parlour' guitars. Big guitars were not yet on the market. The most common sizes had an 11" to 13" wide body width.
Small size guitars produce a sparkling tone, a chime, and somewhat of a natural reverberating sustain. In the early to mid 1900's a few guitar manufacturers produced similar size 'parlour' guitars. The Li'i is the body width of what was known as a Style 2, and the 'Uku Li'i a Style 5."
This new model features gorgeous woods, wood purflings and rosette, ebony top and back binding, radius fingerboard for extra comfort, a beautiful gloss finish body, smooth satin finish neck, and a custom fit arched top hardshell case.
